About Us

The love for food and her passion for cooking took Janet Kruger on a delicious journey…
Queen Caterers was born 20 years ago on an exclusive game farm.  After catering for overseas clients, business groups and hunting safaris she did a professional butcher course and started her own meat processing company.  Sharing all her recipes with friends and family led towards training courses throughout the country. Her passion for food extended to her involvement in writing food articles for magazines.  Presenting cooking demonstrations and catering for large functions brought her back to Pretoria.

After so many years of self experimenting with different flavors and techniques she graduated as a Professional Chef.  Working at the well-known five star Pezula Resort  & Hotel she was even more fascinated by all the delightful smells that would linger in the air coming from Pezula’s own home grown fresh organic products.  Critically acclaimed American Chef Geoffrey Murray, executive Chef of Zachary’s Restaurant and Chef Peter Chan was her mentors, making sure she is equipped with all the knowledge she could possibly obtain.  

Participating in the Good Food and Wine show gave her unique exposure, learning techniques from various celebrity chefs such as Brian Turner, Rachel Allen and Aussie Chef Curtis Stone.

“I love the way everyone talks about food, as if it is one of the most important things in life.  And, of course, it is!.  Without it we would die.  Each one of us eats about one thousand meals each year.  It is my belief that we should try and make as many of these meals as we can truly memorable”.

Opening a culinary school in Montana Pretoria was a dream came true.  Queens Culinary Studio & Catering is a brand new fully equipped facility and group training for up to 20 people can be done with ease and is part of a hands-on cooking experience! Simplicity of good taste food with the best quality ingredients and a large scoop of fun make every class a memorable experience. 

Classes differ from basic knife skills to more advanced courses.  Hospitality studies,  Team building, kitchen tea parties with a difference , theme cooking, mini cooks, students, domestic cooking classes are only a few on the calendar.
